If you have space please consider planting Tuarts, they provide lots of great benefits to us and the environment. ... See MoreSee Less
Planted one in my old garden in freo still going strong 62 years later
Shire has cut them all down in Esperance....hazard apparently
Thankfully many Tuarts were left in parks and reserves in the older northern coastal suburbs. Sadly many have been lost on private blocks with subdivision. I have watched Carnaby Cockatoos feeding on the borers. The tree gets a light pruning too. Tuarts support a miriad of living things. All of them need protection.
Tuarts will also grow inland and south - west have them flourishing on farmland south east of Manjimup.
Only problem is the big branches when water logged can drop there branches
Awesome 🙏🌳🦋
Great information. Thank you😁
Would they grow in clay?
I noticed in a tuart forest near Busselton, so many large branches on the forest floor. Are they normally big branch droppers?
Why have Tuarts been lopped ?

Great! I was going to phone and ask if it’s okay for my dog to come with me to your nursery. He’s a great big needy sook. I’m now just going to assume it’s okay 😁 Very sociable and good with all size other dogs

Its amazing how green my native plants look today contrasted against rain , overcast sky, damp darkened mulch.
The best time to plant a tree would have been ten years ago. The next best time to plant a tree is today!
100% ! Then you also find your village of critters and folk to marvel these happy splendours. Sooo good.

Thanks for explaining. I’ve got a single 4 year old epica from you thats yet to flower. It’s growing so well in Gwelup’s brown sand. I just hand water it a little if it’s a summer heatwave. It’s never looked stressed and seems well suited to Perth’s sandy soils.
Love ya work Digger ! 💚
