Our nursery and garden is insecticide free. We love all of our many spiders and other insects, and so do our many birds. ... See MoreSee Less
I wish more people and grows were insecticide free . Finding the balance is the key, encourage beneficial insects and birds is so much more beneficial than using all the different insecticides.

I am in Joondalup and have a weeping version of H Laurina and it is flowering at the moment too. The seeds take most of the year to grow fat and mature before they are ready to be crunched open by the Carnabys.

thank you. I'm going to give this a go!
When the plant is shrubbing up nicely with new growth near the base will you then trim the higher branches to even out the overall shape?
Fantastic. Thank you. I killed an ere o Phil’s before when it was getting too leggy and hard pruned it. I’ll try this method now
That's interesting. I have found over the years that I can't cut back into hard wood with a lot of natives but you are suggestinh if I tip prune on other branches I might stimulate growth up the branch that has got some good leaf growth on it? I am going to give it a go.
I should have done this to my Eremophila cuneifolia after it got a bad fungal infection… I was too chicken to cut it back and it ended up dying anyway
Very interesting and I love hearing information like this. I’ve got some very leggy Ozothamnus , will they take this treatment too?
Mine was growing beautifully but now has patches dying off - (Eremophila Fairy Floss) Do I just keep cutting these sections out?

Atriplex semibaccata or Berry Salt Bush - Good Bush Tucker! ... See MoreSee Less
Definitely one of the best ground covers. Fast growing, weed surpressing, drought tolerant, self seeding and easy to transplant, the birds like the berries and the small blue butterflies like the minute flowers and like mentioned the critters love to live under it. It naturally grows in my garden everywhere, but have also grown it from seed and transplanted seedlings to a preferred spot.
Planted tube stock about a month ago, great to see the mature version in this video. Melbourne, Reservoir.
What part of Australia will it grow like that? I'm in Melbourne
So versatile
please tell me it will deal with Townsville humidity in summer?? pleeeeease?

This little family of 3 Carnaby’s are return visitors to my garden in Belmont. They love the Sea urchin hakea, large flowers and large nuts. Important food source.
I've got one growing in my garden (costal) and it's been relatively slow growing allowing it to be shaped easily. Love it.
Mine is in flower now, very pretty.
I have a couple in my backyard and the birds and the bees love them
